An interesting piece of material on plagiarism. I really appreciate it. In my opinion, if we would want to reduce the amount of plagiarsm among students, then all lecturers should play their part strictly, especially starting with the freshies.
ReplyDeleteWhen they are still in First Year, it would be much easier to inculcate honesty in doing assignments or homework in them rather than advising them when they are already in the Second Year and above. This is because during First Year, they are most probably not yet practising plagiarism and still not yet adapt to the university style of studying. So, this is the time to teach them about the disadvantages of plagiarism and train them not to do so.
