Tutorial 8 : 23th Nov., 2012 (Week 11) at DK3 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM

For tutorial 8, we will go through two problems from Homework 3:

1. P5-14 (boundary condition)
2. P5.17 (homogeneous material) 

For this tutorial, as usual there will be no open-book session with 4 students in a group (mixed race - Malay, Chinese, Indian) trying to solve the 2 problems without looking at the formula in the textbook. This is to exercise your brain to do some critical thinking about how you should overcome solving problem by means of discussion. I need everyone to take part and each handwriting should be in the paper. If I do not get all the handwritings from all 4, partial credit will be given. Therefore, you need to plan ahead of time. The following is the suggested time plan for you to set up (not necessarily solve the problem completely):

1. 15 minutes for discussion (brainstorming)
2. 15 minutes to come up with the solution
3. 20 groups/20 minutes to discuss with the lecturer (each group will have about a minute to discuss with me)
4. 10 minutes to write it up
